With a D17 visa, you can

Visa type

The D17 Visa is a visitor visa that allows for multiple entries to Indonesia. It provides an initial stay permit of up to 60 days from the date of arrival. This stay permit can be extended but cannot be converted into a temporary stay permit.

Length of stay

  • You can stay in Indonesia for up to 60 days, starting from the arrival date.
  • You can extend this stay permit several times up to 180 days.
  • Your sponsor can extend your stay permit online through the sponsor’s registered account at evisa.imigrasi.go.id.

Visa application

Sponsors must have an account at evisa.imigrasi.go.id before applying for a D17 visa for foreigners. Sponsors submit electronic files including:

  • Application letter and sponsor’s statement letter
  • Travel document valid for at least 6 months
  • Proof of living expenses in Indonesia (bank statement in foreigner’s or sponsor’s name for last 3 months, min USD 2000 or equivalent)
  • Recent color photograph (Details)
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Travel itinerary

Specific requirements

An invitation letter from a government agency or private institution as the host of the program/activity.

Other provisions

  • Foreigners without citizenship or holding travel documents (temporary passports, emergency passports, etc.) must attach a Re-Entry Permit and a return/onward ticket.
  • The visa is valid from the date of issuance until the specified expiration date. If unused, a new visa application is required.
  • Foreigners with a D17 stay permit are not allowed to sell goods/services or receive salary/compensation in Indonesia.
