C5 Media and Press Visitor Visa

With a C5 visa, you can

Conduct journalism activities, cover events in Indonesia, or perform any media and press-related activities.
With this visa, you can also visit tourist spots and see friends and family.

Visa type

The C5 Visa is a visitor visa for single entry to Indonesia with a first stay permit of up to 60 days,
starting from the arrival date. This stay permit is extendable and eligible for conversion into a
temporary stay permit with the same sponsor.

Length of stay

  • You can stay in Indonesia for up to 60 days, starting from the arrival date.
  • You can extend this stay permit several times up to 180 days.
  • Your sponsor can extend your stay permit online through the sponsor’s registered account at
    evisa.imigrasi.go.id

Visa application

Sponsors must have an account at evisa.imigrasi.go.id before applying for a visa. After logging in, the sponsor can apply for a C5 visa by submitting electronic files of the foreign applicant, such as:

  • A travel document valid for at least 6 months before expiration.

(For holders of travel documents other than national passports, such as emergency passports,
identity documents, etc., the document must be valid for 12 months.)

  • Proof of living expenses in Indonesia (bank statement in the foreigner’s or sponsor’s name
    for the last 3 months with a minimum balance of USD 2,000 or equivalent).
  • Recent color photograph.

Specific requirements

  • Press ID
  • Invitations or information from government institutions, approved interview transcripts,
    or a statement from the Indonesian embassy regarding news coverage plans in Indonesia.

Other provisions

  • Stateless foreigners or holders of non-national passports must attach a Re-Entry Permit
    and a return/onward ticket.
  • The visa is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance. If unused, a new visa must be applied for.
  • Visa validity differs from the period of stay. Please check your visa carefully.
  • Holders of a C5 stay permit are not allowed to sell goods or services
    or receive salary, wages, or compensation in Indonesia.
